Back in Motion

Okay, well its been over a year since I posted but our life has gotten so AWESOME I just have so much to say about it!!!

So lets back date a bit...

On January 1st 2010 we got licensed to be foster parents. Our 3+ yr struggle to become prego was wearing on me and I was ready to be done with it. We both knew that at some point in life we wanted to do foster care and if possible adopt and I guess God just said "Yup, your going to do that and your going to do it sooner than later." I can't really describe the feelings I had about wanting to do this other than it felt natural, just as natural as trying to get pregnant feels for a couple who getting prego comes easy to. I just always felt like this is what we are supposed to be doing.

It was a long process of filling out paperwork and waiting, going to a training and waiting and finally just waiting. Some time in August we got a call from CPS, they had a 2 yr old that needed a home. The next morning the social worker brought him to our house. He was an awesome kid!! He liked to talk and ask question and just be close to people. long of the short of it he was with us for 5 days and then he went to live with his aunt.

What I can say about that experience is that for the 5 days he was with us he was supervised 24/7, warm, safe, feed, cared for and loved.

When he left I did cry a bit, I wasn't sad that they had "taken him from us" but just worried about how he was going to feel. Then I stopped and thought "You know he is with his aunt it's just like my nieces and nephews coming to stay with me. He will be just fine". That day Josh took me out to lunch and we talked about it and decided we still wanted to do this. We had done our jobs and felt great about the experience.

A few weeks later we had listed our house to try and start moving out to the country and that was/is going horribly really nothing is working out. So for now that's still hanging in limbo.

Then on October 8th, 2010 at 2:10(ish) pm I got a call from CPS. The lady on the other line, we will call her Lu, Said "Hi, Sara. Well I guess you know by now you are getting 2 little boys." Umm WWWHAT??? No I did not know this, this was brand new information! Lu then asked what time she could bring the boys by. That day I was getting off work at 3:00pm, so I told her "Well, I get off at 3:00 so..." Then her "Okay will 3:30 do?". Yikes. Me, "Oh wait! give me till 4:00." Her "Okay 4:00 it is. See you then."

So what does this all mean? It means I have one hour and forty-five min to bring two little boys into my life. Oh my. Breath Sara. Breath.

I started trying to call Josh whose phone was shut off. So I called his friend and said "HAVE JOSH CALL ME ASAP!!!" When I got off work I ran a quick errand and then Josh finally called me back. I told him the news , he was shocked but okay with it. And finally I rushed home with about 15 min to spare.

The time had finally come it was a little after 4:00 and a brown Chevy with state plates pulls into the driveway. As I come out to great them here is this 5 yr old with the bluest eyes and blondest hair, and the first thing he said to me was, "Where are you puppies?" Then from around the corner comes another tiny boy with white/blond hair and the same blue eyes. They were the cutest things ever!

So started our life with Bug and Pill aka Tony who is 5 and Thomas who is almost 2.

The next few weeks were crazy, messy, loud, sweet, silent, sleepless, showerless. There was hitting, fighting, hugging, laughing, screaming, crying, playing, running hidding. It was AWESOME! we love having them with us and they love beign with us.

This is now our life, in less then 2 hours we went from well rested and single to "OMG I NEED MORE COFFEE!" and we are loving every minute of it.
